Amin Sunaryadi: Inpex and Shell Comply with the Government Decision

JAKARTA – The Head of Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Amin Sunaryadi emphasized that Masela Block investors Inpex and Shell comply with the Government decision on Masela Block development, they only need to recalculate the onshore POD including the timeframe changing.

“SKK Migas and Masela Team met Inpex and Shell Team yesterday (3/23). They have communicated to discuss about the President’s decision face to face to develop Masela Block onshore,” explained Amin.

SKK Migas asked the investors to understand the President’s decision and requested Inpex to immediately prepare the planning to amend the onshore-based POD, including the timeframe changing, while the formality follows, “continued Amin.

The conclusion of the meeting is that Inpex and Shell, as the investors of Masela Block do not plan to leave Masela Block. “No plan to leave Masela Block. They will stay in Masela Block,” affirmed Amin.

SKK not only set the meeting with Inpex and Shell, but also set the meeting among Pertamina with Inpex and Shell as the initial discussion if Pertamina would join to develop Masela Block. “The meeting with Pertamina discussed two things; introduction meeting and marketing strategies. The introduction meeting appointed who is going to be the PIC from Pertamina, Inpex, and Shell. Meanwhile, the marketing strategies in developing Masela Block will absolutely need domestic market and of course Pertamina has a great potency to handle those domestic market. (AK)
